Self Hosting Git to Avoid GitHub AI Training And The AI Worries

I’m using Forgejo, so far so good. As I’m the sole dev, I don’t need much. Though there are some setups to do, I can auto deploy using ssh key with Coolify just like in GitHub. It is not available to the public as I’ve put it behind Tailscale.

Tailscale

This stuff is easier to setup than WireGuard. Just install it on your VPS, then use tailwind serve to expose ports. Add devices to your Tailscale network and they all see each other.

AI & Saas

I do believe AI is going to change the future now. People were talking about how it can change the future, and I was still unsure about it while reading a lot of false information and outputs from GPTs.

Now that I see videos, audios, code and text can all be generated by AI. It’s inevitable, however much I don’t like it.

So, I’ve took my gracious time to try to figure out what my future is like. Programming seems like a dead end if one are about to do it in a traditional way. Yet, I would argue that it’s just the tools are getting accessible, it doesn’t inherently mean everyone is making softwares, nor do they success.

Selling clothes is a form of business everyone can get into, but still a lot of people are not doing it. Same goes to programming.
