Reader can now subscribe to Newsletter based on their interest.

Newsletter with Listmonk

The newsletter mechanism is by using Listmonk, a self-hosted subscription managing FOSS.

It is relatively easy to setup.

I thought about using MailerLite. But I already have been using smtp2Go anyway, so I figured it is always cheaper to separate what I can do (managing subscriptions) and only delegate what I cannot do (sending mass emails) to third party service providers.

Static site with newsletter and comments

This site is now more refined and feature packed. It has comment systems, subscriptions, markdown writing, webp optimisation for images, search, and RSS, etc.

It might be easy to do in WordPress. Where you can just pay and spin up a site with most things included if not some paid plugins. My site is rather crazy in terms of the amount of work I need to do to just have most things running. But it’s worth it because I have full control over customization.

I do like FOSS, DIYs, and minimalism.
